Follower Status Check: turn DM conversations into followers
Someone slides into your Instagram DMs — but they don't actually follow you yet. That's a warm lead and a missed follow. Follower Status Check fixes both: when a non-follower messages you, your AI setter works in one light, natural "give us a follow" ask during the conversation — never pushy, never repeated, and never sent to people who already follow you.
01Why this matters
A DM is the highest-intent moment you get on Instagram. If that person isn't a follower, asking them to follow while they're already talking to you converts far better than any generic "follow for more" — because your AI ties it to a real reason and asks in your voice, mid-chat, as a quick aside.
It also compounds: every non-follower who converts is someone who now sees your posts, stories, and future drops.
02How it works
- When a non-follower DMs, your AI setter naturally works in a single follow ask early in the conversation — then gets right back to helping them.
- It asks once per person. It never nags, and it never asks someone who already follows you.
- It's Instagram only (the follow status comes through the DM itself).
03Turning it on
- Go to Automations → DM greeters.
- Find Nudge non-followers to follow at the top and flip it on.
- (Optional) Add a line of guidance for how the ask should sound — e.g. "mention I drop free trainings in stories every week." Leave it blank for a generic warm nudge.
That's it. Your setter handles the timing and the wording from there.
04Good to know
- The ask is woven into a normal reply — it's not a separate robotic message, so it never doubles up on what your setter is already saying.
- Follow status updates when someone sends a new DM, so if they follow you partway through, the ask simply won't come up again.
- Works per account: turn it on for one Instagram profile or all of them.
