Getting started with SetterStack
SetterStack answers your Instagram and Facebook DMs with an AI trained on your offer, qualifies the lead, and books them onto your calendar — while you keep full visibility and can take over any conversation at any time.
Setup takes about 5–10 minutes, and your dashboard shows a checklist that tracks your progress automatically:
01Create your account
When you sign up, you'll enter your workspace name — this is your business or brand name (for example Acme Fitness or Garret Coaching). It's how your workspace is labeled across the app, in the sidebar, and whenever you reach out to support, so pick something you'll recognize. It's not permanent — you can rename it anytime under Settings → Team (workspace owners only).
021. Pick a vibe
When you first sign up, onboarding asks you to choose a starting style — coaching closer, e-commerce support, agency booking, webinar registration, med spa / aesthetics, fitness coach, real estate, and a general closer. Picking one pre-fills your AI's name, offer description, tone, do's & don'ts, FAQ answers, and objection handling. If you tried the demo on our homepage first, we'll highlight the match for your industry so you don't start from scratch. You can customize every field later under AI Setup. There's also an optional booking link field right here — drop in your Calendly or GHL link so your setter can book calls from day one.
032. Meet your setter
Right after you pick a vibe, you'll see your AI reply live — before you connect anything. Text it like a lead ("how much is it?", "does this actually work?", "I need to think about it") and watch it handle the objection in your voice. Not quite you? Change the vibe and the replies change. This is the fastest way to see it actually work.
043. Connect your account
Click Connect Instagram (or Facebook) and approve the connection through Meta's own secure login. You come right back to onboarding to finish — new DMs start flowing into your SetterStack inbox immediately. See Connecting your account for details and troubleshooting.
You can skip this during onboarding and do it later from Settings, but nothing else works until an account is connected.
054. Teach the AI your offer
The two fields that matter most: your assistant's name and your offer description. Until both are filled in, the AI can't hold an on-brand conversation. The persona template from step 1 gives you a strong draft — refine it under AI Setup, and add real knowledge (pricing, program details, common questions) to the Brain.
065. Create your first flow and flip it Live
Open Automations → Flows → New flow and pick a template — for example Comment keyword → AI closer ("comment WIN and I'll DM you"). Edit the message copy (templates mark exactly what to personalize), use Test it to simulate a lead walking through it, then flip it from Draft to Live.
Nothing sends until a flow is Live and the AI is on — SetterStack is inert by default, so you can explore safely.
07Go live
When you've connected an account, onboarding shows a Turn my AI setter ON button — one deliberate tap flips it live and it starts replying to new DMs in your voice. Until you tap it, nothing goes out. You can pause it anytime from AI Setup, and your picked starter flow stays a draft until you separately flip it Live in Automations.
08What happens next
- New DMs land in your Inbox; the AI replies in seconds.
- Leads who match your qualification criteria get moved through your pipeline and offered your booking link.
- You get notified (bell, and Slack/Discord if connected) when a conversation needs a human.
Tip: the dashboard checklist disappears on its own once all four steps are done. If you dismissed it early, everything is still reachable from Settings, AI Setup, and Automations.
